Just started this blog to get to know people outside of Craigslist that have a passion for wine - My roots are in Napa Valley and I am very familiar with the north bay area wines - I would very much like to share my knowledge with you and welcome those who can share their knowledge with me. Especially foreign wines, wines from the Sierra Nevada foothills and California Central Coast
Let's talk about all aspects of the wine industry as well. Barrel making (not my cup of tea) - organic and biodynamic farming techniques and which wineries are or will soon be implementing them - storage at home - food pairings and more!
I want to be able to share my web site with you as well and yours, if you have one. Here's my site: http://www.mypersonalwinetaster.com/ - send me yours!

This is wonderful idea - I love wine and really like to talk about wines others have tasted, so when I purchase wine, I'll have some sort of idea about which one to buy! I'll send the url to all my wine friends in SoCal and we can share our experiences. Thanks
What a fantastic idea! What better way to get to know new wines! What are your favorite wineries in the area? What do you recommend?
Grgich is one of my favorites. Love the Fume Blanc. Do you prefer reds of whites?
Hey there lovewine, I agree, Grgich Hills Estate consistantly produces exceptional wines, year after year. Their Fume Blanc, which goes well with Thai Food, if that's one of your meal preferences, has low residual sugars, a tropcial fruit dominance on the nose, mostly grapefruit on mine and a very balanced acidic/fruit finish. One day, without any help, I had to mow both the front and rear lawns, and believe me the front yard is huge, and, I will say, with a push power mower! After about 3 hours of cutting, emptying the bag, trimming and sweeping, I was dog tired! (They didn't help either!) So, I put a bottle of GHE Fume Blanc in the fridge for about 35 minutes and then poured myself a nice tall glass - hard work, sweat do pair well with Fume Blanc, so much so, I had another GLASS full!
